BENEFITS OF PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Employers need to know who they are engaging as OH&S consultants. Professional membership registration is evidence the consultant has been assessed against the 6 core cometencies of the NZISM Professional Standards Framework and gained formal recognition by their peers. They are entitled to use the initials MNZISM.
HOW TO APPLY
Members can apply for registration as professional member by completing the application form in our Professional Standards Framework Publication (download below) and ask your branch manager for a covering letter to support your application. Then send the application to the NZISM Professional Membership Grading Panel P O Box 25107 St Heliers Auckland for consideration at their next sitting. They will then make recommendation to the National Executive whether an applicant should become a Professional Member. All applications are confidential to the Gradings Panel. If your application is not successful, you will be given reasons for this decision and the opportunity to submit additional information.
The NZISM's Professional Standards Framework contains six competency - based statements which describe the areas of skill and knowledge required for effective performance. Demonstrating you have this knowledge and skill is the key objective of your application for Professional Membership.
