We are seeking an Environmental Officer / Manager who is able to ensure the effective delivery of environmental services for the client and its associated projects in meeting its environmental responsibilities and objectives.
- Provide leadership, coaching and advice to managers and key site leads to achieve environmental management excellence for the business and its projects in line with the organisations strategy. Relationship management and client focus.
- Assessing, maintaining and improving environmental compliance and sustainability activities. Strong planning abilities
- Manage the usual wide range of diverse environmental issues within a project environment as well as supporting the main business. Analytical ability and problem solving skills.
- Promoting a positive environmental culture and leading improved environmental management performance for continued excellence in performance. Strategic thinking and communications
- A high degree of business acumen.
To be successful you must have
- Environment qualifications (Environmental Management or Environmental Engineering) with experience of a minimum of 5 years working in a similar role.
- An in depth knowledge of the applicable legislation and associated regulations
- Construction and or Mining experience
- The technical and operational ability to use the tools to identify and assess environmental risks through gap analysis, risk profiling and risk analysis techniques and to be able to conduct environmental due diligence for projects and or changes to the business.
- Be a skilled communicator both written and verbal and be able to engage with regulators, government and industry associations as required.
You must already be living and working in NZ to apply for this role as current relevant understanding and experience of the NZ legislation is a must have.
