A permanent opportunity has arisen to work for a well respected manufacturing organisation based in Nelson. This position would suit a practitioner who is keen to add value and make a difference in the workplace and is able to influence at all levels from an operational and technical EHSR perspective.
The position requires a visible and supportive presence on site to ensure the EHSR best practice is monitored within all operational activities to standards. The successful candidate must be able to:
- Provide professional guidance, advice and support for the organisation and associated parties for compliance with Health and Safety legislative requirements and consents including HSE Act, RMA and HSNO Act
- Deliver EHSR excellence by active management, auditing, monitoring and review of the systems and processes to ensure safe systems of work are in operation at all times
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation and work collaboratively with other EHSR Advisors
- Identify, coordinate and deliver EHSR related training as required
- Educate and support managers to undertake Root Cause Analysis, for safety, asset and environmental incidents, to influence future safe behaviours.
Reporting to the National EHSR Manager you will also be able to demonstrate your:
- Communication skills - ability to work at all levels within the organisation engaging support, influencing behaviour and offering guidance and direction to key stakeholders to drive cultural change
- Ability to manage projects, people and processes to a consistently high standard within a manufacturing environment – project management skills are vital within this role
- Good overall working knowledge of the legislative framework including the requirements of the Accident Compensation Act
This role is also an active member of the site lead team and the successful candidate is required to be based locally to meet the business needs.
It is expected the successful applicant would have a minimum of three years relevant EHSR experience within the manufacturing industry along with a tertiary OHS qualification, however solid experience will drive this role.
